Seeking Courage Through Stories

AUTHOR

I am the author of Spire and Stone and The Mill Wheel Series, as well as the ghostwriter (yes, I revel in that title) of The Schreifels Saga. I also have about five hundred short stories scattered here and there, with some of them collected into The Birdwoman Collection.

PODCASTER

I am the co-host and audio engineer of the Abbie and Abby Podcast, where we connect our listeners with professionals across the publishing industry. Join us for conversations with career professionals like Phil Lollar, Gena Redding, Cheri Lasota, and Bethany Miller.

DIRECTOR

I love all things audio! I got my start into audio drama in 2019 when I began writing for the much-beloved classic, Adventures in Odyssey. I began on the writing end of things, conceptualizing and scripting my own episodes, and have recently been able to direct several of my episodes in the studio in LA.

Above all, stories have given me the

Reviews

Wayne Thomas Batson

Bestselling Author of The Door Within Trilogy, The Meridian Constellation, and Outcast.

A.R. Geiger’s Spire and Stone knocked me off my feet. I always tell writers, “Write what you love to read.” Spire and Stone is just what we all love to read. A flawed but infinitely followable protagonist in Viggo, lines of intrigue that make the imagination soar, and a series of rock-your-world conflicts—will leave readers breathless and panting for more. A.R. Geiger is a powerful new voice in fantasy.

Nancy Rue

Award-Winning Author of The Reluctant Prophet Trilogy

Spire and Stone, by A.R. Geiger, is a must-read for those who love fantasy, as well as those who think they don’t…. Through exquisite prose, Geiger develops complex characters and in them displays a deep understanding of the human psyche and what human beings are capable of – at their brutal worst and their noble best. And the best part? Spire and Stone is only the first in a series. More to come – after we’ve caught our breath.

I have waited six—no, close to seven—years for the release of this novel . . . and it was worth it, one hundred percent! Abigail’s powerful narrative is both heart-warming and heart-breaking; you will find yourself turning to each new chapter with baited breath, rooting for, crying with, and fighting alongside these characters as they forge unbreakable alliances and stare Death itself in the face. I am sharing this novel with my literary-loving family and friends as I know it will be their new favorite fall read!

I LOVE this book. I cannot wait for the next one! This book is a splash of ice-cold, fresh water. The world-building is rich. The characters are deep, and not one-dimensional. The fantasy elements and even social hierarchy are complex. There is more to be discovered in this world.
A.R. Geiger, thank you SO much for writing this book. I needed it, and I am anxiously anticipating the sequel.

Spire and Stone is a must read for everyone! It is filled with edge-of-your-seat suspense, themes of friendship, and heart-wrenching moments that will bring you to tears. Viggo, a character I first saw as super unlikable, grew into a friend…someone I wanted to reach through the pages to comfort and cry with. Cat, loyal and fierce is my absolute favorite! This author didn’t just write another fantasy story. She wrote characters who face darkness and death, the worst parts of humanity…but together overcome. I cannot wait to add this to my bookshelf!

My Books

Spire and Stone

Spire and Stone is my debut novel, and the book that started my writing career. It is comparable to a medieval Gladiator (2000, Ridley Scott) with shapeshifters and a supernatural element. It has also been compared in reviews to the dark fantasy Six of Crows for its world-building. As you may notice, it was reviewed by one of my favorite authors in the whole world. His quote is on the back cover, and I have not stopped fangirling over it. Thank you for understanding.

Of Mice and Fairies

Of Mice and Fairies is a collection of short stories that I can only describe as domestic fairytales. They are comparable to Beatrix Potter’s books, and were my escape when I needed something light and sweet to write as a change.

Of Bullfrogs and Snapdragons

Of Bullfrogs and Snapdragons is the sequel to Of Mice and Fairies, and – most likely – the last of the books in The Mill Wheel Collection. My editor is not a fan of that decision, however, and may one day convince me to write the other two that I promised her. We’ll see.

The Birdwoman

The Birdwoman has a special place in my heart as the very first book that I ever published. The collection of short stories were compiled from the early days of this blog, and are an incomplete picture of the many, many snippets I’ve written over the years.

Courage begets more courage.
